About Stock Alerts: Once you have created a portfolio complete with stocks, you are able to select the Stock Alerts you wish to receive from globeinvestorgold.com.
All alerts will be sent to your primary e-mail address by default. To add or change the e-mail address to which the alerts are delivered please click on Change Email info. You may select to input up to three alternate e-mail addresses.
To set up your Stock Alerts on globeinvestorgold.com please follow these steps:
- From your list of stocks please select the stocks for which you wish to receive alerts. To do so please check the box in the On/Off column. If the stock symbol is not listed please click on Add/Delete Stocks for this Portfolio. If you wish to stop receiving alerts for a stock, remove the check from the box beside the appropriate stock symbol.
- Select the alerts you wish to receive by checking the appropriate box. Please ensure that you enter any additional information in the required fields.
- Click Save Alert Settings. You will receive a confirmation that the alert settings have been saved successfully.
About the Alerts:
Target Price Alert- allows you to set an upper and/or lower limit for a stock price. For example, you may select to be notified if the price of your stock falls below $10 or rises above $15. This alert is available on a daily basis.
Price Change (%) since last alert- triggered once the stock price has fallen and/or risen the indicated %. The base price of the intial alert is the stock price at the time the alert is enabled. This alert is automatically re-enabled after being triggered. Once triggered the last notification price becomes the new base price. This alert is available up to three times per day per security.
Price Change (%) since last close- triggerd once the stock price has fallen and/or risen the indicated % on a given day. The base price of the alert is the previous day's closing stock price. This alert is re-enabled at the end of each business day and the base price is set to the current closing price. This alert can be received twice a day, once for the upside of the price change and once for the downside.
5-Star Rating Change- 5-Star Rating Change- allows you to receive notification when a stock's 5-Star Rating changes from the previous month and usually takes place on the first business day of every new month. The rating evaluates a stock's risk-adjusted return within its industry group. Stocks are ranked from one to five stars, with the top industry out-performers receiving five stars and under-performing stocks getting one star.
New 52-week High/Low- this alert is received when the stock price reaches a new high or low over the trailing 52 weeks. This alert occurs at most once during trading hours and is re-enabled each morning.
Volume exceeds 50-day average volume (%)- allows you to set an upper limit for the percentage change in volume over the 50-day average volume. The alert occurs at most once during business hours and is re-enabled each morning.
Stock Splits- allows you to receive notification at approximately 8 p.m. EST the day prior to the effective date of a stock split.
Dividends- an alert is sent out one week prior to the ex-dividend date provided notice is sent by the company. An alert is also sent on the payment date. These alerts are sent at approximately 8 p.m. EST the day prior to the ex-date and the payment date.
Spin-offs- this alert is sent at approximately 7 p.m. EST the day prior to the effective date of the spin-off.
Symbol change- this alert lets you know if a stock in your portfolio is to change its ticker symbol. It is sent at approximately 7 p.m. EST the day prior to the effective date of the symbol change.
Earnings announcement- this alert notifies you on the date the earnings are reported. The alert includes Reporting Period, Last Consensus Earnings per share (EPS), Reported EPS and % Surprise.
EPS estimate change- this alert indicates that there has been a change to the Current Fiscal Year, Current Fiscal Quarter, Next Fiscal Year or Next Fiscal Quarter earnings-per-share (EPS) estimate. These EPS estimates are the mean EPS estimate and are derived from analysts' estimates for the current fiscal year. The estimates allow you to see how quickly analysts expect the company to grow when comparing the estimate with the company's EPS of the previous period. This alert occurs at most once a week and is available on Thursdays.
Analyst recommendation change- an alert is received when the consensus recommendation (Buy, Sell, etc.) changes. This alert occurs at most once a week on Thursdays.
News- choose to be alerted when a company-related news article arrives. You may choose to be notified when an article appears through The Globe and Mail and/or the Dow Jones Business Wire.
