Price Performance dropdowns: Use the Price performance dropdowns to isolate stocks whose per cent or dollar price change are greater than, less than or equal to a specific amount during a selected time period. Therefore, in the first dropdown:
- Select a time period and type of change, per cent or dollar,
- And enter a number in the minimum (greater than) or maximum (less than) text box, or both.
For example: 1 Month % Change selected with 30 entered in the minimum box will return a Quote Report containing all stocks and indexes whose price has jumped by more than 30 per cent during the last 30 calendar days.
The second and third dropdowns under price performance are optional. If you choose to complete more than one dropdown, the search will isolate stocks and indexes that match the criteria entered in each dropdown.
For example:
- First dropdown: 1 Month % Change selected with 20 entered in the minimum box,
- Second dropdown: 1 Year % Change selected with 55 entered in the minimum box
will isolate stocks and indexes whose price has jumped by more than 20 per cent during the last 22 trading days and by more than 55 per cent in the last year. In this case, you might be searching for growth stocks that have recently made a strong upward move.
Historical price changes are based on the last available closing prices, and do not include intraday price action. The database of historical prices is usually updated with the latest closing numbers before 8 p.m. EST each weekday, after the markets close.
Intraday price changes are based on per cent price changes during the current or last trading day. They do not include price information for previous trading days.
Returns calculations across the site reflect all stock splits and are based on simple capital appreciation. Calculations do not include the payment of dividends or distributions.
