Returns calculations across the site reflect all stock splits and are based on simple capital appreciation. Calculations do not include the payment of dividends. Historical percent and net change calculations are updated shortly after the close of the daily markets. In some cases, prices, percent change and net change information may be updated a second time to reflect price corrections made by the exchanges.

52-Week Low: The lowest price at which the security has traded during the latest 52 weeks.

EPS: EPS stands for earnings per share. Latest EPS figures on the site are calculated based on net income for the trailing 12 month-period, meaning that net income figures are based on the company's last four quarterly financial reports. The formula for EPS is earnings before extraordinary gains and losses, less preferred-share dividends, divided by all common shares outstanding at the most recent fiscal year end. Net income, or earnings, refers to the company's after-tax profits before extraordinary gains or extraordinary losses for the most recent annual period.
Enter Symbol text box: To view another stock quote from the Stock Today page, enter the symbol followed by a hyphen and an exchange code (e.g.: BCE-T, TSE-I) and click Go. If you don't know a stock symbol for the company, click the Symbol Lookup text link to enter a search containing the
company name. Then click the underlined security Symbol to view a Stock Today quote for the security. Or return to the Stock Today page and enter its symbol.
Exchange Codes: If you don't specify an exchange code after entering a stock or index symbol, our database will match the symbol with its primary exchange — usually the TSE in Canada and/or the NYSE or Nasdaq in the United States. For example, if you enter BCE into the text box and click "Go," the system will return a report containing both BCE-T (as traded on the TSE) and BCE-N (as traded on the NYSE). Therefore, to view a quote for a particular symbol, enter the symbol followed by a hyphen and an exchange code. The exchange codes are as follows: T-Toronto, X-Canadian Venture, D-CDN, N-New York, A-American, Q-Nasdaq NM, QS-Nasdaq SC Q2-OTCBB, I-Index.

The P/E is a value indicator that represents the number of times a company's annual per share earnings must be multiplied in order to match its stock market price. A P/E ratio of 15 means that a stock is trading at 15 times earnings. In general terms, the higher the price-to-earnings ratio, the more expensive the stock. Earnings per share figures on the site are calculated based on net income for the trailing 12 month-period, meaning that net income figures are based on the company's last four quarterly financial reports.
