ZURICH -(Dow Jones)- Swisscom AG (SCMN.VX) has been fined 220 million Swiss francs ($216 million) for its broadband pricing policy that resulted in disadvantages for its rivals, Swiss competition agency Weko said Thursday.
Rivals that rented lines from Swisscom couldn't run a profitable broadband Internet business until December 2007 because Swisscom's charges were too high, Weko said.
Swisscom rejected the ruling as unjustified and said it has appealed the fine.
